because they try to flatter themselves. the first answer was from a nitwit. a lot of asians have double eyelids, and answering with a duh at the end doesn’t help. answer number 2 must not have heard much about tanning. but my answer to you is that they don’t look at themselves (besides looking at a mirror) they look at others. for example, americans say that eating dogs is wrong and are all for animal protection yadah yadah yadah, but we have sea world. sure sea world protects sea creatures there, but they train them for people’s entertainment, and pretty much put them in a gigantic fish tank. ok, besides that, people who say asians get plastic surgery to look white are shallow, or just ignorant to the culture

idk. If you make any physical alteration (which i’m against) then you’re trying to be white in this country. If i straighten my hair (i’m black, btw) then i’m trying to be a white girl in the perspective of Afrocentrists. I think that is complete and utter non-sensicality. Yet, like you said, when whites get lip injections, butt implants, and tans, do people accuse them of wanting to be black? Nay. It’s perplexing.

It is ridiculous and actually it’s racist. Unfortunately this sort of perception that white is the right colour to be still influences some areas of society so some people seem to almost expect other races to want to be more white. It’s obviously self-centred and untrue but I’m not sure what you can do about it… other than correcting people when you hear them I suppose.

I know a lot of Asians that have “natural” double eyelids and I never get it either. When the asians who have monolid get a double eyelid job, why can’t people said they want to look like the other asians who have double eyelid? Why do they have to said white?
Tyra banks show was messed up about this. She said you got a eye job because you want to be white but I got my hair dye blonde does not mean that I want to be white lol.
I think this whole thing originated from the Tyra Banks show? Don’t take my word for it b/c I’m not sure.
