i know this comment is about to raise a hurricane of nasty thumbs downs but i honestly think guys are the better looking of the two sexes i mean think about it girls do all of that what do guys do, stay clean, work out some and bam were golden, we dont were makeup, most of us dont have things done to there hair, all we need are a pair of jeans and a tshirt

I can’t really answer the part about what men have to deal with, because I don’t think any male experience is comparable to childbirth. But I some guys do a lot of things to try to make themselves look better for the opposite sex (or same sex, depending on your sexual orientation).
Personally, I’m especially (but not exclusively) attracted to women who try to be sexy. I appreciate it when women put on makeup (it highlights what’s naturally beautiful), wear thongs, pushup bras, etc. I don’t expect women to do this sort of thing all the time, but it is definitely attractive to see someone who takes pride in maintaining her appearance.
As a man, I do many things to maintain my own appearance. I try to keep up with the latest fashion trends. I wear form-fitting (but not super-tight) clothing to show off my body. I use hair product. I shave my face every morning. I shave/trim body hair and trim my eyebrows. I put on cologne. I try to work out when I have time (although I haven’t had a lot of time lately). I try to stay at least a little tan (but it’s hard because I’ve got the Scandinavian skin).
Sorry for all the details, but I hope that helps. I’m guessing that most guys don’t do as much as I do, but men do groom themselves and take pride in their appearances. I wouldn’t expect a date to get dolled up if I wasn’t willing to maintain my own appearance.
